PEERS

Pre-college Engineering Education in Rural Settings (PEERS)

Dr. Piratla founded the PEERS program and offered six-week outreach engagement programs in multiple K-12 schools in the rural communities surrounding the Clemson area. These schools include A. R. Lewis Elementary, Ambler Elementary, and Liberty Middle school. These schools had significant percentage of students coming from rural backgrounds and the PEERS program exposed the kids to engineering principles through engaging hands-on activities. Dr. Piratla plans to expand the PEERS program to several other elementary, middle and high schools located in rural communities of South Carolina. Feel free to reach out to Dr. Piratla for learning more about the PEERS program or obtaining educational material from the PEERS program.
