Pre-college Engineering Education in Rural Settings (PEERS)

Dr. Piratla founded the PEERS program and offered a six-week outreach engagement in 2016 to fifth grade students at the A. R. Lewis Elementary School in the Pickens County of South Carolina state. A. R. Lewis had significant percentage of students coming from rural backgrounds and the PEERS outreach program exposed the kids to engineering principles through engaging hands-on activities. Dr. Piratla plans to expand the PEERS program to several other elementary, middle and high schools located in rural communities of South Carolina. Feel free to reach out to Dr. Piratla for learning more about the PEERS program or obtaining educational material from the PEERS program.
